Anonymous Asked: There's a BI that suggests you and some musician friend of yours crashed/ruined an engagement party at Bar Marmont, but there's no way it could be you because you're back in Canada now, right?

I don't even know why I am addressing gossip, but do you really think I'd party at Chateau Marmont of all places? Shame.

Returning to L’École supérieure to co-teach a workshop June 3rd. If you're in the Montréal area, come check it out. It's been about over five years since I've been there, and I am so excited to see my old friends and instructors.

Anonymous Asked: What kind of music do you listen to? I'm looking to add some new artists to my playlist.

I'm not sure if I'm the best person to ask this kind of question because my music taste is very eclectic and all over the place. Right now I'm listening to a lot of Cœur de Pirate, Warpaint, April March, Icky Blossoms, Banks, Dum Dum Girls, Waaves, Royal Blood and Deap Valley. I also have no idea if anyone else is listening to this band called Babymetal, but oh my god? I am perplexed and intrigued at the same time. They've got Rob Zombie's stamp of approval, soooo.

It Follows | Anatomy of a Scene with Director David Robert Mitchell brought to you by The New York Times.

David breaks down his thought process of the first scene of It Follows. Probably my favourite fan insight of the scene makes you paranoid and search for more clues throughout the film. When in doubt, a second viewing always helps your perspective.

Anonymous Asked: What film are you the proudest of working on?

I must like punishment because this question is hard for me. I've been really blessed to be a part of some great projects, some more seen than others. I think I'm in a unique spot where I can safely say that I am proud of every single film that I've worked on. It Follows had beautiful cinematography, Palo Alto is this honest glimpse into suburbia, Spring Breakers is a mirror of a decadant generation. Winter's Bone and Little Birds were humbling passion projects that I truly believed in, and I'm just honoured to have been a part of them all.
